We are a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and accredited by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS). The school serves children from pre-kindergarten through grade five. Bertschi School is an exciting environment where professionals are part of a supportive team dedicated to advancing the school’s mission working alongside an active community. The staff enjoys a salary and benefit package in line with other independent private schools in the Northwest. General Summary The Director of Extended has the responsibility to develop and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for elementary age children. The Extended Day Afternoon program has separate spaces for PK & K students and 1-5 students. However, there are opportunities to engage across all grade levels before and after school. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative in educating the community about the needs of children who experience an “extended day” and build a sense of community by connecting people within the department and the department to the rest of the school. The Director of Extended Day reports to the Head of School and directly supervises all Extended Day staff during lunch coverage for faculty as well as after school. General Responsibilities:
