Responsibilities include close teamwork for curriculum development, committee involvement, student assessment, supervising an advisory group, parent communications, involvement in electives and supervision of students at lunch and recess. The school has programs in outdoor education as well as various curricular and cultural explorations; middle school teachers accompany their students on extended trips locally, nationally, and internationally. 

Preferred Qualities: 

• Three or more years’ experience teaching middle school humanities. 
• Knowledge of current pedagogy and facility with hands-on and project-based instruction. 
• Openness to Quaker philosophy. 
• Collaborative and creative team player.
