Middle School 7th-Grade History Position
Part-Time (.5 FTE) Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, Washington, is currently recruiting for a Middle School History Teacher, starting with the 2012-13 school year (beginning in mid to late August, 2012).
Responsibilities: The History Teacher, reporting to the Middle School History Department Head and the Middle School Division Director, will join a highly collaborative department that consists of five faculty members. Specific responsibilities for this position include:
• Teaching two 7th-grade American History sections of sixteen students each.
• Participating actively in the work of the department on curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment.
• Serving as a co-advisor for a group of eight 7th-grade students and participating actively as a member of the 7th grade-level team.
• Providing academic support for students outside of class time as needed.
• Attending History Department, grade-level team, and faculty meetings.
• Participating in the life of the school community including outdoor trips, field trips, and service learning activities in relation to one’s half-time FTE status. Part-time faculty consult with the division director for guidance regarding schedules, meeting requirements, and participation in school activities.
