The University of California, Merced is a dynamic new university campus in Merced, California, which opened in September 2005 as the tenth campus of the University of California and the first American research university in the 21st century. The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts seeks to establish a pool of scholars for non-tenure-track Lecturer positions in the studies of music and art history/visual culture for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. Hiring priority will be given to scholars whose research and teaching are transcultural and interdisciplinary in scope. All candidates should demonstrate a knowledge of current literature and critical theories.
