The Department of Sport Management and Media is seeking to fill a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor of Sport Management position. Candidates will be required to provide strategic career advising of sport management majors to include helping place and supervise students in a required academic fieldwork (Fieldwork in Sport Management course) and a required academic internship (Internship in Sport Management course). In addition, typically, candidates will teach 3 courses each semester from the following list of courses: Introduction to Sport Management, International Sport Administration, Social Aspects of Sport, Sport Event and Facility Management, Seminar in Legal and Ethical Issues in Sport, Sport Governance and Policy, Financial Aspects of Sport, Sport Economics, and Strategic Management in Sport.
Doctoral degree (ABD’s may be considered) in an appropriate discipline such as sport management/administration or a related discipline preferred; evidence of scholarly activity or the potential for scholarly activity and college level teaching experience required; and sport industry work experience desirable.
