This position is 25% BSW Program Director and 75% teaching/research/service. |
Required/Preferred Qualifications: The Department of Social Work seeks to fill a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for its accredited MSW program and also to serve as BSW Program Director for the newly developed BSW Program. Required Qualifications:1. Doctorate in Social Work or closely related field from a regionally accredited university program (closely related fields include sociology, American Indian studies, psychology, and education). 2. A Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.3. Two years Social Work practice experience.4. Evidence of effective written communication skills.5. Evidence of effective teaching in higher education. 6. A clearly articulated research agenda and demonstration of ability to carry it out.7. Prior experience demonstrating administrative skills in areas such as program development, recruitment and retention of students, program planning and implementation.8. Expertise in one or more of the following areas of practice: human behavior in the social environment, social policy, research, community practice, child welfare, social work with diverse populations, field and global issues. 9. Valid Minnesota social work license or verification of eligibility for licensure by the Minnesota Board of Social Work.10. To be appointed to the rank of Associate Professor additional years of teaching and research productivity are required: A minimum of 4 years demonstrated excellence in teaching; A well established record of publication in social work field; Service at the university, community and professional organizational levels.Preferred Qualifications:1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and/or social work clients from diverse backgrounds. 2. Prior experience in working with American Indian people and communities.3. Evidence of effective communication skills necessary for a faculty position.4. Two years post-MSW practice experience.5. Demonstrated skills in the role of BSW Program Director.6. Demonstrated skills related to the development of online courses.7. Knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards.
