Position Summary:

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, with employment beginning in 2014-15. The position is to provide excellence in teaching in the emerging disciplines of Social Enterprise and Social Entrepreneurship. The DMSB Social Enterprise Program has a particular emphasis on global social enterprise and social entrepreneurship using an interdisciplinary approach to experiential learning. The primary focus is on teaching how private sector businesses committed to social impact can strengthen or accelerate economic development in poor communities and developing countries. The fundamental responsibility is to teach undergraduates in areas including global social entrepreneurship, impact investing and microfinance, and strategy and business planning for social enterprises. The position also requires service by leading or co-leading student programs in social enterprise and social entrepreneurship with partner institutions in developing countries. This travel is typically five weeks during the Summer semester.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess a doctorate degree in entrepreneurship, or a closely related field.


At the assistant level, the candidate is expected to have an extensive background in the field of international business, or international economic development. Prior teaching excellence is required.


At the associate and senior levels, the candidate is expected to have extensive experience in the field of international business, or international economic development. Prior teaching experience is required.
