Director for the Center of US-Mexican Studies (CUSMS)
The School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) http://irps.ucsd.edu/ at UC San Diego, http://irps.ucsd.edu/, is searching for an internationally renowned scholar to serve as Director of the Center for US-Mexican Studies (CUSMS) (working title) at UC San Diego. The position entails appointment as professor of teaching in IR/PS (with permanent employment and, subject to faculty approval, full faculty voting rights) and Senior Research Fellow in CUSMS. The position is open with respect to discipline, including economics, history, political science, public policy and sociology.
CUSMS supports policy-relevant research on all aspects of Mexico and US-Mexican relations, working in close collaboration with social scientists at institutions in Mexico. The responsibilities of the position include providing overall intellectual and administrative leadership for the Center, developing relationships with research and policy institutions in Mexico, generating extramural support, and providing outreach to the bi-national community.
