The College of Education as the oldest college at Rowan University has a long-held commitment to excellence in teaching, community engagement, and innovation in scholarship. The College of Education was recently recognized as having one of the best online graduate programs in the country. The department of Teacher Education is one of five departments within The College of Education, which offers undergraduate programs in early childhood education, elementary education, subject-matter education, educational technology and graduate certificates in educational technology. The College of Education is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the New Jersey Department of Education. The College of Education also houses and supports the Early Childhood Demonstration Center, which serves preschool-age children in the Rowan community and provides field and clinical experiences for early childhood candidates.
The College of Education is searching for a qualified instructor to teach in and coordinate the educational technology program. This position will entail coordinating the educational technology programs for both graduate and undergraduate levels as well as teaching, pending on credit load. One requirement is a background in teaching educational technology for K-12 levels, in addition to experiences in directing, supervising, or developing educational technologies. The successful applicant may teach up to 9 credits of courses each semester and will serve on faculty committees and coordinate the Educational Technology Certificate of Graduate Study program.
Minimum of a master?s degree in instructional or educational technology; doctoral degree preferred
Meet minimum qualifications for licensure or equivalent to teach grades P-12 in New Jersey
A minimum of 3 years of public or private successful teaching of educational technology at the P-16 level is essential
Demonstrated ability to teach other educators technology tools
Demonstrated commitment to fostering academic achievement, social and personal responsibility, and social justice through technology innovation
Demonstrated commitment to working in an environment devoted to collaboration, collegiality, professional development, diversity, scholarly inquiry, student learning, civic responsibility, and respect for all people
Demonstrated commitment to furthering the seamless inclusion of technology into teaching and learning particularly in the P-12 environment
Familiarity with current teacher accountability requirements and best practices in educational technology
A teaching/learning philosophy consistent with the mission of the College of Education
Demonstrated active teaching and service agenda.
Experience with program administration
Experience with online delivery of programs in varied learning management systems
Experience with Web 2.0, HTML5, & Online Resources for P-12 educators
- National leadership in field of educational technology
- Doctoral degree in instructional or educational technology
- Research and grant experience
