| ||Responsibilities |
| || Review and approve payment and calculation of Payroll Taxes for Federal and States; Nonresident Alien taxes for Federal and State of California; identifying and correcting for discrepancies and preparing supporting documentation |
Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles payroll liability general ledger accounts in coordination with General Accounting. Monitor the clearing of reconciling items. Also provide backup to Accountant II position.
May include developing, implementing, and monitoring accounting systems, policies, and procedures
Professional Development to remain current with payroll tax law.
Participates in special projects (such as year-end processing of W2s, W2cs, 941s, and 941xs)
Provides analysis for complex accounting projects; such as issues with monthly payroll interfaces to the General Ledger; problem solve reconciliation issues in coordination with systems; communicate issue with payroll to the Office of the President for resolution.
| ||Required Qualifications |
| || Has minimum of 10 years' accounting experience |
Has thorough knowledge of accounting function and assignments.
Has ability to independently gather, organize, and perform accounting related analysis.
Requires ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and financial systems, as well as related policy, accounting and regulatory compliance requirements.
Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office and common desktop/web applications.
Must be proficient in analyzing high volumes of financial transactions and data.
Bachelor's degree in related area.
