| ||Infrastructure Services is charged with providing infrastructure to UC Berkeley's IT community. |
This includes the Data Center, servers, storage, backup, systems administration, job scheduling, disaster recovery etc.
The Production Control Manager is responsible for managing the Production Control Liaison team that provides the scheduling, setup, submission, and monitoring of production jobs and Managed File Transfers to successful completion in accordance with established procedures and practices. These are for UC Berkeley, UCSF, UC Office of the President and the UC Wide UCPath. Ensures customer needs are met in a timely manner. The incumbent must successfully manage a multi-platform Production Control environment that supports multiple University of California campuses.

| || Responsible for 24/7 scheduling, monitoring, problem management and coordination of production jobs running on multiple platforms at multiple campuses. |
Manages through subordinate leads production control projects to ensure they are delivered as defined and scheduled
Responsible for ensuring clear and constant communication with all supported customers and unit managers.
Acts as primary Liaison for UCPath activities
Oversees directly, or through subordinate leads, all staff selection, performance evaluation, salary action, disciplinary action, training, and the coordination of activities for the Liaisons within the production control team.
Responsible for development and implementation of all customer service standards in coordination with the Production Control Operations Manager.
Responsible for all departmental protocols and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality assurance and customer satisfaction in coordination with the Production Control Operations Manager.
Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect the department. Understands and applies campus policies and procedures.
Generates and analyzes performance metrics, trending, and problem reporting.
| ||Required Qualifications |
| || Requires advanced knowledge of Production control batch processing. |
Requires knowledge of technical architecture, systems use, maintenance, and planning and integration strategies.
3-5 years in leadership/management in Production Control.
Strong persuasion/negotiation, mentoring, leadership/management, and human resource policies and procedures relating to management responsibilities.
Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to clearly present complex data management/business information to various audiences.
Quantitative and analytical abilities.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
