Poised for success, Carleton University`s fundraising campaign is ready to launch.
We seek a strong, experienced leader for our award-winning advancement team. This is an opportunity to create a significant and meaningful legacy at a leading Canadian institution. If you are willing to put people first, share ideas and best practices, and innovate with us in a highly collegial and collaborative environment, we would like to invite you to be part of this effort.
Carleton University will celebrate 75 years of strong academic growth in 2017. A vibrant hub of activity, right in the heart of the nation’s capital, Carleton is a dynamic research and teaching institution with a tradition of leading change. Its internationally recognized faculty, staff and researchers provide more than 27,000 full and part-time students from across Canada and more than 130 countries around the world with academic opportunity in 6 faculties. With an annual budget of $600 million and an impressive and expanding research capacity of over $60 million annually, the University has fostered entrepreneurial activities which have led to the creation of more than 200 companies. We have a strong commitment to the community, both locally and globally. Working with a fully engaged and caring leadership team, including a distinguished Board of Governors and an impressive campaign cabinet, you will play a meaningful role in aligning the vision of philanthropists with that of the University.
Join with us in an innovative and creative venture, the largest in the history of this nimble and entrepreneurial university. Known for its unique culture of public service and social commitment, Carleton`s team includes the entire campus community. All are committed to philanthropy (with the only Masters program in this field in Canada). Programs across faculties, student empowerment through future funders and the Student Philanthropy Council, a mentorship program which is set to be the best in the country, significant awards on all levels from public relations to alumni development, and faculty and student research and publications, make Carleton a hub of vibrant activity.
Reporting directly to the President, the Executive Director will lead a department approaching 50 in the launch and completion of a major campaign which is quietly nearing the halfway mark. Energetic, innovative, thoughtful, outgoing and articulate, Carleton's Executive Director will hold a university degree, have experience with successful major capital campaigns, demonstrated leadership skills and the proven ability to work well with a truly dedicated, highly professional team. We seek a true star who is ready to create a personal and institutional legacy for a sustainable university of the future.
Carleton University is strongly committed to fostering diversity within its community as a source of excellence, cultural enrichment and social strength. We welcome those who would contribute to the further diversification of our faculty and its scholarship, including but not limited to women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples, and persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply but applications from Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
