DESCRIPTION: Humboldt State University’s School of Business invites applicants for an academic year tenure-track faculty position in Management. The mission of the School of Business is to provide entrepreneurial, hands-on, applied learning experience through close student interaction with faculty and the community, with a commitment to sustainable social, environmental and economic development. The School of Business is currently undergoing significant growth with a focus on developing the next generation of leaders in sustainable and socially responsible business.
RANK, SALARY AND BENEFITS: We seek to fill this position at the Assistant Professor rank; however, rank and salary are dependent on the appointee's qualifications and experience. The current California State University Salary Schedule is available at: www.humboldt.edu/aps/docs/Salary-Schedule.xls.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. or equivalent in Management or closely related field from an accredited college or university is preferred at time of appointment. Applicants with considerable progress toward doctorate degree completion by appointment date will be considered. Completion of terminal degree is required prior to the start of the second probationary year following initial appointment.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching as demonstrated by student evaluations;
• Ability and/or interest to teach courses in Management, Organization Behavior/HR, Data Management, Strategy, and International Business;
• Practical experience working in the industry in related skills/areas;
• Ability and/or interest in teaching courses that emphasize principles of sustainable business;
• International experience in teaching, research or business;
• Commitment and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds;
• Potential for or record of research, scholarly and/or creative activity involving students whenever possible;
• Willingness to participate in the development of online learning experiences.
At the time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to work in the United States. Evidence of degree(s) is required at time of hire.
PROFESSIONAL DUTIES: Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence and to building a strong research record. Instructional assignments may include courses in Management, Organization Behavior/HR, Data Management, Strategy, and International Business. Instructional assignments will be consistent with the programmatic needs of the department and students.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are teaching, research and scholarship with graduate and undergraduate students, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.

Evidence of required degree(s), certifications(s), or licenses(s) will be required prior to the appointment date. Finalists for this position are required to be fingerprinted through the Humboldt State University Police Department. Results of the fingerprint process must be received by the university prior to the candidate’s appointment. The cost of fingerprinting is borne by the university. California State University is in the process of revising its system-wide policy on Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect. All CSU employees who are hired on or after the effective date of the revised policy will be required to sign and submit a form prior to commencing CSU employment to acknowledge their reporting obligations.
