On-Going Lecturer Pool
The Latin American and Latino Studies Department (LALS) at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for the position of Lecturer. Our interdisciplinary department conceptually bridges the fields of Latino/a Studies and Latin American Studies. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, cultural studies, gender and sexuality, economics, history, literature, media studies, migration, politics, popular culture, race and ethnicity, and sociology. We are open to multiple disciplinary and theoretical approaches.
The positions are available on a part-time basis for one or more quarters. Applicants should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses consistent with the LALS curriculum. Regular appointments are during the academic year, but accepted candidates will also be eligible for Summer Session appointments.
The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching.
SALARY: $6,126 - $8,656 per course, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from this amount.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: M.A. in relevant Social Sciences or Humanities area of study.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in relevant Social Sciences or Humanities area of study; evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching.
TERM OF APPOINTMENT: Quarterly
