| The Department of Anthropology at Princeton University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in sociocultural anthropology, to begin in September, 2015. The deadline for applications is October 15, 2014. |
We seek ethnographically grounded and theoretically engaged scholars whose research and teaching promise to expand our current range of inquiry, for example, in the areas of human rights, urbanism, language and discourse, environmental studies, media studies (particularly new media), religion, and regions of the world not regularly covered by our courses.
Applicants should send a cover letter summarizing their teaching and research experience, and research goals for the next three to five years. Application dossiers should also include a full cv, names and contact information for four referees, a writing sample (e.g., published or submitted article), and syllabi for two courses in sociocultural anthropology (one basic, one more advanced). The PhD should be in hand or expected by September 1, 2015; therefore, applicants who are currently graduate students should also provide evidence of their progress toward timely completion of the degree.
On line application should be made through Princeton's Jobs website. https://jobs.princeton.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/position/JobDetails_css.jsp?postingId=204733
