Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of Houston announces a yearly renewable position for a full-time (9 months), non-tenure track, Instructional Assistant Professor for the Spanish Program beginning August 2017. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Spanish. Prior teaching experience in Hispanic literature and culture and some administrative experience within a university setting are required. A high level of social and organizational skill is necessary for this position as well as working knowledge of data management programs such as EXCEL. The successful candidate is expected to teach three undergraduate courses per semester and assist the Graduate Director with student applications. For full consideration applicants must submit a letter of application, statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, and three letters of recommendations. Instructional faculty appointments are made consistent with the University’s Non-Tenure Track Faculty Policy.
