The Department of Sociology at Bridgewater State University offers a Sociology major program and a Sociology minor. Sociology majors may choose General Sociology or may elect Sociology with a concentration in one of the following: Education, City Community & Region, or Global Studies and Social Justice Concentration.
The Department of Sociology seeks qualified and committed part-time faculty members in support of our goal to provide a strong liberal arts curriculum aimed at developing well-rounded, informed citizens with strong critical thinking abilities.
A master’s degree in an appropriate field is required.
Applicants should be strongly committed to excellence in teaching and advising, and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity.
They should also have an ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning, the ability to work collaboratively, the ability to communicate effectively, evidence of scholarly activity, and a commitment to public higher education.
A doctorate and teaching experience are preferred.
