The Department of History at Bridgewater State University trains students to engage in a sustained investigation of the record of humanity's existence. Its faculty represent a wide range of specializations in United States and European history, as well as the history of societies in Africa, East Asia, Canada, Latin America, and the Middle East.
History students acquire skills in collecting, synthesizing, and evaluating information from diverse sources, as well as presenting it in support of a coherent interpretation of the past. The unique combination of content knowledge and skills represented in the discipline of history allows students to develop a sophisticated understanding of human nature and human potential.
The Department of History seeks highly qualified and committed part time faculty members to teach lower division courses. Course offerings may include US history, European history and/or world history.
Master’s degree in a related field required.
Teaching experience preferred.
