Educational Technology Services (ETS) enhances and supports the UC Berkeley academic experience by providing essential, responsive, and innovative technology services. The unit directly improves and supports educational technology on the UC Berkeley campus through its implementations of technology in general assignment classrooms, local implementation of a variety of learning systems including the campus' learning management system, student portal, and webcast.berkeley.edu, technology support for academic events and scholarly activities, video production and distribution, and services that support online collaboration.
ETS is looking for a few talented, professional, customer friendly, AV Technicians and Camera Operators to round out our Events and Production team and help us provide exceptional support for a variety of different types of events and conferences on campus. This is a part-time, on-call position, with the availability to work up to 20 hours per week.

Incumbent will be responsible for coordinating logistical aspects of the production process such as specifying and reserving equipment rentals; scouting & reserving production spaces and procuring all necessary permits and permissions for production; coordinating staff and/or vendors required to fulfill production schedule as determined by project producer.
Responsible for: maintaining a clean production environment; Setup and operation of A/V equipment to include cameras, microphones, mixers, switchers, scalers, digital recording devices, lightings etc.; Coordination of on-site production needs such as costumes, props, equipment, etc.; Maintaining a log of production details that will be used as a record of the session and as a guide during the postproduction process; and assist project producer as needed.
III. Post Production
Responsible for logging content from shoots into post production environment.
Experience with projection setup and laptop integration/capture
Experience with signal routing and signal flow
Live audio production experience. Assuming multiple sources, 10 channel mixer, balanced/unbalanced, indoor/outdoor, output distribution
Excellent AV troubleshooting and problem solving skill
Knowledge of AMX panel integration
General PC and MAC skills like control panel setups, Microsoft Office, Keynotes and Power Point.
Ability to lift heavy objects
Camera operation skills highly preferred
Camera Operator :
Experience with HD camerawork - especially Panasonic P2 cameras- focus, exposure, white balance, framing and smooth operator
Understanding of different HD file formats and AJA KiPro, Atomos and other file based recording system
Live streaming setup and operation
Multi-source video switching setup and operation
Preferential will be given to those who also has AV Technician skills
Salary & Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for UC benefits plan.
