The Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University seeks 3 full-time instructors, committed to undergraduate teaching, to teach the writing component of a unique 6 credit Business Writing and Research Methods course beginning in August 2017. The course combines writing instruction and basic research methods and is taught by a team of Writing instructors and Marketing faculty.
The Business Writing and Research Methods course is part of our marketing curriculum which integrates the most relevant marketing and learning theories, as well as the most current professional marketing practices. In order to create the most effective learning experiences for our students, the marketing curriculum has as its foundation the tenets of Experiential Learning Theory emphasizing student engagement with all key educational stakeholders (e.g., students, faculty, alumni, and the local and global business communities).
The ideal candidate will have training and experience in teaching all aspects of business writing, a foundational knowledge of general business concepts, and knowledge/experience in a social science discipline (e.g., psychology, sociology, business, economics, etc.). Qualified applicants must have at least a Master's degree. The position requires a 3-3 teaching load, no research requirements, and service requirements limited to student engagement.
