This position will manage the Field Education program for the Joint Master of Social Work (JMSW) program and work collaboratively with the UNCG Co-Director of Field Education and JMSW faculty.
The Co-Director of Field Education, JMSW Program will develop new field education placements for the Joint Master of Social Work (JMSW) program. Coordinate JMSW program field education placements, including advanced standing placements and any extended summer MSW placements. Conduct evaluations of field education program. Develop and manage JMSW field education database. Monitor and manage student prerequisites for JMSW field placements. Monitor JMSW field units. Co-Chair JMSW field education faculty meetings. Conduct first year JMSW field interviews. Organize and implement JMSW Agency Fair. Co-Lead JMSW field education student/agency orientations. Update JMSW field education manual. Mentor adjunct field faculty. Teach 1 to 2 courses per year along with a unit of students in field education. Serve as clinical supervisor for JMSW students as needed. Serve as student academic advisor. Serve as a member of the JMSW Program administrative team. This is a 12 month position.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The JMSW program which has been in operation since 1997 and continuously accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 2000 is jointly administered by the Department of Social Work and Sociology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and the Department of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This is one of the few joint MSW programs in the country and the only joint program between a historically black college or university and a former women's college. The hallmarks of our program are diversity and preparing students for multicultural clinical practice.

MSW from a CSWE accredited program or an earned Ph.D. in social work. Two or more years of experience as a director of field education, field education instructor or faculty liaison. Experience with office software including database management.
Two or more years of post-master’s social work degree practice experience. One or more years of classroom teaching experience at the MSW level preferred. Experience directing field experience.
