The Department of Human Ecology at Rutgers University invites applications for a part-time (50% appointment) non-tenure track (NTT) faculty position at the Assistant Teaching Professor level. This position will support the teaching missions of the Sustainability curriculum and of several departments of the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS), including Human Ecology, Environmental Sciences and Ecology, Evolution and Natural Resources.
This position will be expected to seek approval for inclusion of courses in the SAS/SEBS core curriculum as appropriate, and will be encouraged to support independent student projects, internships, and research in the areas of environmental, urban and societal sustainability. The position will work with other faculty members to expand SEBS' capacity for academic program development in environmental, urban and societal sustainability at the interface of the disciplines of Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Human Ecology, Resource Economics, and Environmental Planning and Design.
The position will be expected to consult with corporation and state agencies to ensure that desired sustainability skills are incorporated into Rutgers' academic programs in sustainability. The position will serve an active role in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and activities at Rutgers-NB; will represent SEBS on the Rutgers University Committee for Sustainability; and will contribute to the planning and programming of the annual Rutgers University Sustainable Symposium.
