ART & DESIGN - PART-TIME LECTURER POOL. The Art and Design Department, College of Liberal Arts at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2017-2018 academic year, which begins September 7, 2017. An eligibility roster of qualified part-time faculty is being established to teach courses for possible vacancies in the following areas: art history (introduction to art; Western, American, Asian, 19th and 20th century; survey of art history), basic 2-D and 3-D design and color theory, art theory and practice, basic digital foundations (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), sculpture, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography and video (including artificial lighting and digital image making), and graphic design (including typography, symbology, corporate identity, package design, advertising, web design, and 3-D digital modeling).
Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):
Applicants are required to possess an MA, MS, or MFA. For studio-based courses, a BFA and comparable professional-level experience may be considered.
Ph.D. preferred for art history. University-level teaching experience preferred.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
