Position Summary:
Assistant/Associate Professor in Modern Middle Eastern History, with a specialty in Modern Israel.
The Department of History at Yeshiva University seeks a specialist in Modern Middle Eastern History with a specialty in Modern Israel for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, beginning in August 2024. Application review will begin March 10, 2024.
Position Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach three courses a semester at both Stern College for Women and Yeshiva College
She/he will be expected to offer a range of both core and advanced courses and have the ability to teach beyond her/his field of expertise
The position may additionally include the possibility of teaching courses at the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies
Experience & Education Background:
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field by the time of appointment.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in two Middle Eastern languages and a record of publication and successful teaching are preferred.
Salary Range:
ASST: $70,000 - $102,000
ASSO: $85,000 - $117,000
