Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary instruction will be within the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program and the undergraduate exercise and rehabilitative sciences curriculum. The incumbent would be expected to teach courses that may include, but not limited to: (1) MSAT Courses: Therapeutic Modalities, Therapeutic Interventions (General Medical), Pharmacology in Athletic Training, Athletic Training Clinical Experiences, Athletic Training Research; (2) Undergraduate Exercise Science Courses: Behavioral Interventions, Medical Aspects of Exercise, Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries, Advanced Fitness Programming.
- Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
- Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
- Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
- Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
- Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
- Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
- Direct/assist with CAATE programmatic accreditation.
- Support undergraduate and graduate students through advising in the pre-athletic training and graduate MSAT programs.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc, DAT) in Athletic Training or related field by August 2024.
- BOC Certification and current/eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
- Experience teaching courses within a CAATE accredited athletic training curriculum.
- Three or more years of clinical practice experience in athletic training.

- Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
- Experience as a program director or clinical education coordinator for a CAATE accredited athletic training program.
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses in the areas of exercise and rehabilitative sciences.
- Experience implementing evidence-based practice research projects relating to athletic training.
- Experience in undergraduate and graduate advising of students.
- Experience in marketing and recruitment of undergraduate and graduate level students.
- Experience with teaching online and blended/hybrid courses.
- NSCA CSCS Certification.
- NPI number.
- Demonstrated service to the profession of athletic training and/or involvement in athletic training professional organizations.
