![]() Social Science Research Professional 3 Stanford University Job Classification Title: Social Science Research Professional 3 JCC: 4188 Grade: H One year Fixed Term Position funded by grant Stanford University Department of Economics, one of top five economics departments in the country, is seeking a an experienced Social Science Research Professional 3 to perform work to design and run a large survey of start-up firms, to perform statistical analysis of the data and to present this to academic and business groups. The project is in collaboration with a San Francisco based technology company with millions of users. The individual will report to the principal investigator (PI), Professor Nicholas Bloom. S/he must have a genuine interest and commitment to survey research, economics and academic/business connected research. This is a one-year fixed term position with a possible appointment extension of one year. A very strong candidate has already been identified. Core duties: * - Other duties may also be assigned Details of specific duties: DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must have extensive survey experience, ideally designing, setting up and running surveys through multiple modes in difference countries and for different delivery teams. The candidate must also have management research or teaching experience to design and help execute management randomized control trials. The candidate also needs some foreign language skills - ideally Spanish and at least one other European language. Finally, the candidate requires research and statistical knowledge ideally in a prior university or equivalent research setting. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Graduate degree in an applicable social science related field and five years of applicable experience, or combination of education and experience in an applicable social science. In addition, experience organizing surveys in a variety of different settings, familiarity with economics research including statistics and Stata and familiarity with management research.
