Position SummaryThe Interior Design Program in the School of Planning, Design & Construction (SPDC) at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a full-time Academic Specialist- Teacher (full-time instructor) with continuing appointment beginning in August 2019. Having been accredited since 1976, the Interior Design program is proud of its long tradition and offers a rigorous curriculum that successfully combines various aspects in design, research, services and client relationships. This Academic Specialist is non-tenure track, full-time teaching position, continual/permanent following two successful probationary reviews at year 2 and 5. We are especially seeking candidates who have expertise in teaching interior design core courses including design fundamentals, history of interior design, interior materials and building systems, professional practice, or design studios. This position requires a 10% service responsibility to School and Program. Michigan State University is located in East Lansing, MI, with easy access to the state capital, Lake Michigan, and award-winning school districts. Desired QualificationsLeadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) or WELL Accredited Professional (AP) is preferred.
