In fact, in 1926, Mills became the first college west of the Mississippi to open a Childrens Laboratory School and continues to offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate academic programs and certifications in educator preparation, leadership, and related fields. Currently, the School of Education maintains important collaborative arrangements with neighboring school districts, including Oakland Unified School District and hosts a range of grants-funded programming centered on closing the opportunity gap for diverse youth and inquiry-based work with educators to deepen and extend their teaching practice in a range of settings. The Outreach, Partnerships, and Student Communication Specialist is a key member of the SOE administrative team with the primary role of cultivating and managing internal and external SOE partnerships to support the community engagement, collaborative grants-seeking, matriculation, and retention goals of the school. The Outreach, Partnerships, and Student Communication Specialist has an in-depth knowledge of existing SOE programs and accesses and utilizes networks to gather information about the current educational and training needs of professionals in the field, including blended and online options. They work closely with program faculty and the Dean to consider new directions for program and curriculum development, communicate these offerings to the broader public and target markets, and supports the Colleges initiatives to expand the external facing role of the SOE education. The individual is a critical partner to the SOE Academic Coordinator, the VP of Strategic Partnerships, and works with the Director of Administration and Executive Assistant to the Dean to ensure that programming and engagement with internal and external communities are operationally aligned with the SOE calendar and Deans agenda for the SOE, and Mills College, overall. In deep collaboration with the offices of Admissions and Enrollment and Marketing, Outreach, Partnerships, and Student Communication Specialist provides critical holistic student communications throughout the processes of inquiry, registration, orientation, matriculation, graduation, and professional placement. The Outreach, Partnerships, and Student Communication Specialist ensures key communications are appropriately directed to students at each stage of the student lifecycle and serves as a link to SOE faculty and/or staff, and Registrars Office and Financial Aid to ensure all prospective and continuing students have all the information they need to succeed. This includes on-going alumnae/i engagement and cultivation and external reporting of the SOE program data to state and federal agencies. Essential Job Functions: Partnership and Collaboration Prospective Student Communications Outcomes and Reporting The candidate will be flexible in completing any other additional assigned duties by the Dean. Additional Information: This is a full-time, exempt position with an FTE of 1.0. Salary is commensurate with experience and ranges from $65K - $75K, and includes an excellent benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with college-matching after 6 month qualifying period, 10 days of vacation for year one, 15 days of vacation for years 2-10, and 22 days of vacation years 10+ plus, 12 sick days and 17 paid holidays (subject to annual review). Staff members also receive free admission to campus events, use of the pool, fitness center, and tennis courts. Tuition remission is also available after an introductory period. Voluntary benefits include: pet insurance, long-term care insurance, legal-assistance insurance, cellular provider discounts and computer hardware discounts.
