The Department of Sociology in the W.H. Sutton School of Social Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin on August 1st, 2020. The Department offers a bachelor’s degree in sociology. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar. A PhD in sociology and teaching experience at the college/university level are expected.

The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching sociology courses in a range of content areas and enhancing the sociology program's curriculum. Area of research specialization is open, but those with specialization in spatial analysis, medical sociology, research methods, and sociology of family are especially encouraged to apply. Experience with teaching online and/or using digital pedagogies to enhance face-to-face instruction is encouraged. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to the university’s mission, undergraduate teaching, research, and professional development.
