The White House Historical Association is seeking a Director of K-12 Education to join the David M. Rubenstein National Center for White House History in Washington, D.C. Duties will include guiding the Association’s educational program, which is focused on K-12 teachers. This position is supervisory and includes oversight of staff and resources in the department. The Director of K-12 Education also will manage several ongoing partnerships and teacher workshop experiences. This is a full-time staff position and reports to the Senior Vice President of the David M. Rubenstein National Center for White House History.
Graduate degree in American history, education, or a related field preferred.
Considerable knowledge concerning curriculum development in the fields of American history or social studies based upon the use of primary sources.
Demonstrated experience working on collaborative projects and program management.
Ability to write and speak for a general audience.
Familiarity with digital technologies, tools, and platforms relevant to the education field and K-12 educators.
Relevant classroom teaching experience preferred.
