Germanna Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The successful candidate will teach all levels of math including developmental math and liberal arts mathematics. The successful candidate will teach both day and evening courses at any college location, teaching a minimum of 30 credits per year (fall/spring), five courses each semester. The College desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and integration of global perspectives in instruction. Finalists will be invited to present a short sample lesson. This is a full-time nine-month full time faculty position. Salary is commensurate with rank and credentials plus State benefits. Master's degree in mathematics or master's degree in a related field and at least 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics from an accredited institution College-level teaching experience Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems to effectively facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication Commitment to student engagement in the online teaching environment including maintaining consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms to ensure student success Technology capability (access to WIFI, computers) to teach remotely Experience using technology to teach All teaching positions of Germanna Community College require the ability to teach in a variety of modalities including virtually.
