The Department of Art & Design at East Tennessee State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Graphic Design at the rank of assistant professor. We are committed to excellence in arts education, teaching students the technical, theoretical, critical, professional, and personal skills necessary to succeed in the visual arts. The successful candidate will have experience with user experience design (UX) and user interface design (UI), a sound understanding of graphic design history, theory and contemporary practice, and feel at home within an art department. This position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate Graphic Design courses, such as History of Graphic Design, Typography, Layout and Production, and Graphic Design Workshop. Candidates are required to have an M.F.A. in Graphic Design or terminal degree in a related area by 08/15/21.
