The Department of Economics of the Bryan School of Business & Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications in Economics for up to three tenure stream positions to begin August 1, 2021. Positions are subject to budget availability and two are contingent on retirements. Women and persons of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
For this position, the Department seeks candidates at the Assistant Professor (tenure track) level whose research is in applied macroeconomics. The candidate’s research should contribute synergies to the Department’s research strengths. Candidates who will complete the Ph.D. in economics, or a closely related field, by August 1, 2021, shall be considered. The Department will hire one macroeconomist at the assistant professor level, with a second at the assistant professor level or the associate professor level. The Department of Economics (http://economics.uncg.edu) offers a B.A., a B.S., an M.A. in Applied Economics, two graduate certificates, and a Ph.D. focused on applied microeconomics. The Department contributes to both the undergraduate business core and the MBA core. Teaching is a mandatory part of the position and the selected candidate will likely teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department has specific graduate teaching needs in applied macroeconomics.
