Villa Academy is seeking a lower school counselor to join our dynamic Lower School faculty. The lower school counselor works with students, parents, and school staff to support the social and emotional development of students in Preschool through 5th Grade. Villa boasts a 30-acre campus with trails to the waterfront, a garden, and a greenhouse. Faculty and staff enjoy professional development support, opportunities for emerging leaders, and the chance to shape and grow our dynamic program.
Education & Experience:
Master’s degree in school counseling or psychology from an accredited college or university.
Experience in a school counseling setting is preferred.
Practicing Catholic preferred.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:
Build positive relationships with students
Assist with social-emotional classroom instruction of the Second Step and Purposeful People programs, in partnership with teachers
Counsel individuals and groups to address the needs of students
Participate as member of student support team to address student needs and develop appropriate accommodation plans
Collaborate with the middle school counselor and as needed consult with the middle school team around student needs
Assist with parent education and serve as a resource for parents and families
Communicate closely with teachers and administrators regarding student and family issues
Maintain appropriate resources for the Villa community
