The Director of Community Engagement and Professional Development (CEPD) has primary responsibility for providing transformational leadership, community engagement and inter-professional education involving collaborative relationships with all entities external to the School of Nursing-Camden (SNC), including but not limited to, community based agencies, professional organizations, global agencies, government officials, business leaders, community residents, alumni, parents, and campus and University constituents. The incumbent provides special focus on external relationships that facilitate the achievement of the University and School missions of teaching and learning and active civic engagement, in addition to working collaboratively with other internal stakeholders, faculty, and staff to assure that the mission of the school is carried out sustaining academic standards and promoting student academic success.
The focus on Professional Development, will include developing short and long-term plans for year-round continuing education programs, marketing these as successful sources of revenue, identifying and implementing other initiatives that may be programmatic avenues of funding, professional continuing education for nurses and other healthcare professionals, tracking and monitoring the effectiveness of the programs being offered and devising a realistic, lean, but fiscally responsible budget that can contribute to the financial reserves of the School of Nursing-Camden (SNC). The Director of CEPD reports to the Senior Associate Dean of the SNC.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Nursing, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience; Experience in professional continuing education program development and implementation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven leadership, managerial, and financial experience and expertise. Networking with nurses and nurse leaders in the Rutgers-Camden region and throughout the tri-state is expected. The candidate must have the ability to travel to clinical sites hospitals, community organizations, etc. as needed,
Candidate's degree must be in Nursing. Candidate must also have a current New Jersey nursing license.
-PhD in Nursing is preferred, with an established or promising program of scholarship -Previous teaching experience in a baccalaureate degree nursing program and clinical experience are strongly preferred -The candidate should possess outstanding communication and computer skills, specifically with: email, Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. -Experience with assessment and evaluation is helpful. -Utilizing social media for communication and online resources for conducting presentations, workshops, seminars and continuing education is required.

Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
