This professional will be responsible for the university’s enhanced focus on diversity education and training, including its diversity framework, content development, pedagogy, and commitment to accessibility. This position is critical to the university’s efforts to support the implementation of the President’s Race & Equity Initiative and the University’s Diversity Blueprint. RESPONSIBILITIES: Major duties of this position are: Development, delivery, and evaluation of DEI education and training; train staff trainers in DEI curriculum; track and share DEI opportunities across the Seattle campus; support Race & Equity Initiative; support OMA&D central projects; and other duties as assigned. •Train staff as trainers in DEI curriculum, and oversee delivery and evaluation of this curriculum. •Create a mechanism to track and share staff-focused DEI educational opportunities across the Seattle campus. •Set, track, and report on UW DEI education strategy goals, tactics, and progress to goals, and work with OMA&D’s Communications Director to make this information available for public use. •Serve as chair of OMA&D’s Education, Training, and Leadership Development work group. •Coordinate education and training offerings in support of the President’s Race & Equity Initiative. •Participate actively on OMA&D administrative leadership team. REQUIREMENTS: •Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Communications or related field and at least four (4) years of documented successful experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating education on topics of diversity, equity, inclusion and/or multiculturalism. •Demonstrated experience using multiple communication mediums in educational efforts. •Demonstrated ability to understand and educate about issues of social justice, anti-racism, privilege and marginality, and multiple, complex identities. •Demonstrated experience serving as a leader in a work setting, with attention to developing staff, facilitating communication, and aligning goals across functional areas. •Demonstrated experience in working across difference and maximizing all that is to be gained from varied world views, perspectives, and ways of knowing. •Demonstrated experience managing projects. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. DESIRED EXPERIENCE Master’s degree (or equivalent) or higher. Demonstrated experience working and/or training in a higher education setting. Demonstrated experience in training of trainers. Demonstrated experience using educational technologies in training. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and classroom teaching, particularly within higher education.
