Program Manager, Migrations Global Grand Challenge Initiative
Cornell University
The Migrations Global Grand Challenge is an initiative of the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs (OPVIA) at Cornell University. The Initiative aims to cultivate new collaborations that advance science, scholarship, teaching, outreach, and engagement in ways that generate new insights into critical problems. We wish to provide a stronger evidentiary basis for policy and place Cornell University at the forefront of migration studies worldwide. The Migrations Initiative is the recipient of a Mellon Grant titled Cross-Border Movements: Racism, Dispossession, and Migration. This three-year grant will be used to create collaborative research, learning, and public engagement spaces and develop an antiracist and anticolonial agenda that transforms the university and advances racial justice. The research, teaching, and engagement will revolve around three interdisciplinary themes: 1.) Authority, Governance, and Racial Injustice, 2.) Climate, Dispossession, and Natural and Built Environments, and 3.) Trafficking, Displacement, and the Right to Stay Home.
