Football Program Director
St. Andrew's Episcopal School
St. Andrew's Episcopal School is seeking a visionary and dynamic Football Program Director for the 2021-2022 school year. The full-time position offers a unique opportunity to rekindle a competitive football culture at a leading independent school in one of our nation’s fastest growing cities. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of our Athletic Director and will work closely with the entire Athletics’ team and the Head of Upper School to deliver a high quality football experience for players and coaches. St. Andrew’s football is at a pivotal moment in its history. After three seasons of partnering with St. Stephen’s Episcopal School to field a joint football team, the Austin Saints, St. Andrew’s has decided to recommit to St. Andrew’s football beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. The next Football Program Director will offer a vision and strategy for the future of the Middle School and Upper School programs. The next Director of Football will provide leadership, supervision, and organization for the entire Football program, including the TackleBar (6th-8th) and Flag Football (5th-6th) programs. Candidates will be asked to present a three year plan for retaining Middle School athletes, training our current Upper School players, and eventually returning to Varsity football competition in the Upper School. The most competitive candidates will be able to contribute significantly to other aspects of school life, as a classroom teacher, administrator, or staff member. We anticipate teaching openings in History, English, Math, and Physical Education, but candidates with other teaching or administrative backgrounds should also apply. We will give preference to candidates with previous Head Coaching experience or significant leadership experience at a quality program. The next Football Program Director must exemplify the highest standards of professionalism, leadership, and sportsmanship. Above all, the Football Program Director should love working with adolescent athletes, recognize the power and importance of mentorship, lead by example, and support young men in the development of their character and values.
