![]() Temporary Lecturer- Ethnic Studies University of California San Diego The Ethnic Studies Department at the University of California, San Diego is committed to building an excellent and diverse faculty, staff, and student body, and invites applicants whose experience have prepared them to contribute to our commitment. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent by the start of appointment, in Ethnic Studies, Latin American Studies, Gender Studies, Literature, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, or relevant field. The Department is looking for multiple Lecturers with demonstrated teaching experience in related disciplines ranging from race and social movements, to cultural and media studies, to legal and science studies. Preferred applicants have experience managing large classrooms (50-300 students), have outstanding teaching qualifications, have strong demonstrated accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire to play a leadership role in advancing UC San Diego's commitment to achieving excellence and diversity. Appointments will range from part-time to full-time and may be extended. Course-loads will range from one course in one quarter up to nine courses over a full academic year - depending on the department's needs and the qualifications of the candidate - and will be determined at time of hire.
