Position Function:
The candidate must have knowledge of Sociology with pedagogical expertise in the area of Criminology. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the Criminology major, both on-campus and online.

Department Profile:
The department has more than 400 undergraduate majors and 40 sociology graduate students with strong ties to the African American Studies Program, Gender Studies Program, the Social Science Research Center, the National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center, and the Southern Rural Development Center. Programs offered include BA, BSW, MS and a Ph.D. in Sociology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses based on need of both units. Performs service activities and serves on various departmental, college, and university committees. Such responsibilities will be assigned by the Department Head of Sociology or a designated representative.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Sociology.
ABDs or degree pending considered (all but DISS):

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with instruction and course development. Previous experience with both lower level and upper level Criminology courses. Previous experience with both on-campus and online courses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates should be a dynamic educator with teaching experience preferred.
Candidate should have experience with curriculum development and both on-campus and online instruction.
