DIRECTOR OF EQUITY, BELONGING, AND COMMUNITY LIFE Charles River School Since its founding more than 100 years ago, Charles River School students have learned to use both inquiry and creativity to build practical skills, discover new interests, and take responsibility for themselves, their communities, and the future. With a deep history and commitment to social justice, the school offers students in PreKindergarten through eighth-grade a global curriculum grounded in thematic, hands-on teaching and learning. Position Summary Charles River School seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and inspiring educational leader to serve as its Director of Equity, Belonging, and Community Life starting July 2021. Serving as a member of the senior administrative leadership team, the successful candidate will be an experienced leader devoted to the school’s mission and programs. The Director works with the administration, faculty, students, families, and Trustees to ensure that diversity, equity, inclusion, and a culture of belonging are integrated throughout the life of the school, including but not limited to: structures, policies, practices, programs, and curriculum. The Director will lead across all levels of the school to develop, implement, and track progress of ongoing strategic and tactical initiatives that help dismantle inequities, promote justice, and enhance CRS’s inclusive environment. The Director will oversee and partner with a robust faculty DEI Committee to ensure a culture of belonging is nurtured and fostered throughout all aspects of the school, in and out of the classroom. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is one of the four major strategic initiatives set forth by the CRS Board of Trustees. Hiring for a full-time Director has been identified as essential in the school’s overall goals and strategic vision. |
