The History Department at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Middle Eastern and North African history, with the possibility of a renewal. The successful applicant will teach four undergraduate courses per semester (ordinarily two preparations), including a survey of modern Middle Eastern history and an upper-level course on the modern Middle East through literature and film. Basic departmental or university service is expected. We seek applicants who display a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an interest in high-impact practices. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2021. Ph.D. in hand and teaching experience preferred.
