Charlotte Latin School seeks an Upper School History Teacher for a full-time, 10-month position that will begin August, 2021. The primary focus of this position is to teach courses in World History with the possibility of also teaching US History. Additional responsibilities may include sponsoring extra-curricular activities, advising, and/or coaching.
Education and Experience
Particular consideration will be given to candidates with a broad background in history and liberal arts, a willingness to teach a combination of courses in grades 9-12, and an affinity for working with Upper School students.
Experience teaching World History required; ability to also teach US History preferred
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
Lead teaching experience required; three or more years lead teaching experience preferred
Proven ability to contribute to a high-performing team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to demonstrate patience, dedication, compassion, and respect for students
Knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, independent education and the mission of Charlotte Latin School
