Department : Psychology Position Summary: The Department of Psychology at UNC Asheville invites applications for a pre-doctoral or post-doctoral University Fellow for Faculty Diversity. This new program seeks candidates to help UNCA advance the critical strategic objective of developing, maintaining, and supporting a faculty whose diversity more closely represents the demographics of North Carolina and the nation, particularly with respect to race. We seek applicants with an earned (or nearing completion of) Ph.D in psychology or a related field who are looking specifically to pursue an academic position at a liberal arts institution which values both teaching and scholarship. The person selected for this position will be expected to teach foundational courses such as introductory psychology or research methods, as well as upper-level electives in their area of expertise. Successful candidates will also be encouraged to engage in research with undergraduates. University Fellows will have a lightened teaching load, extensive mentorship, and support for the development of their pedagogy and scholarship. The term of appointment is 2 (post doc) to 3 (pre doc) years. Following this term, the University Fellow may be offered a tenure-track position in the Department.
