Serving approximately 150 students in pre-kindergarten through the eighth-grade, Dutchess Day School is seeking experienced half-time Lower School Teaching Assistants for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidate will support all aspects of an LS homeroom (PK-4) for approximately seventeen students including English/language arts, mathematics, history/social studies, and character educator. A Head LS teacher will plan and lead the curricular and social aspects of the class’s education, but it is vital to have an assistant who is proactive and responsible.
Candidates should have 3-5 years of classroom experience and a deep understanding of the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of primary/elementary school students. A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and is motivated to work collaboratively within a robust teaching team.
