St. Andrew’s Episcopal School seeks to hire a full-time elementary Visual Art teacher. This course focuses on many different components: a working knowledge teaching a variety of styles, media and the elements of art, some art history and a strong emphasis on two dimensional creations, ceramics, three dimensional artwork and interdisciplinary projects. St. Andrew’s places a strong emphasis on the social emotional growth of every child and promotes a strong foundation in a caring and nurturing classroom environment that empowers academic voice and opportunity. Preference will be given to candidates with and educational background in a fine arts related field of study and a strong sense of purpose in the celebration of artistic creativity with elementary-aged children in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will have experience developing a robust and engaging art curriculum by which each child has the opportunity to experience success and seek challenge. Emphasis will be placed on candidates knowledgeable about culturally relevant teaching practices in the visual arts classroom.
Please submit your resume and a brief statement of interest to Michelle Roe, Director of Finance and Human Resources, at email@example.com. Candidates who contribute to the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community are encouraged to apply.
