The Associate IT Communications Consultant manages the development of programs and materials to communicate information to various Vanderbilt University audiences (e.g., team members and customers). Key functions include the planning and execution of all formal communications (internal and external), updating the VUIT website and social media platforms, and may serve as department representation amongst internal and external communications committees and projects related to IT.

The IT Client Success team works with the Vanderbilt community to lead new technology initiatives to enhance and support research, teaching, and administrative priorities. Through the implementation of new technologies and infrastructure, our teams encourage innovation and creativity throughout the campus community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute production of all formal communications (internal and external):
Review and approve emails from Vanderbilt IT customer support teams that communicate changes in IT services, cybersecurity, and outages
Create, collect, and review articles for the monthly VUIT all staff newsletter
Draft key points for distribution from senior leadership meetings
Write and submit relevant IT articles to MyVU, the university's newsletter
Review and edit customer, employee, and student satisfaction surveys and results prior to publication
Design various PowerPoint presentations
Update the Vanderbilt IT website and social media platforms:
Provide Vanderbilt IT website edits and updates as needed
Update the Highlights section on VUIT website as needed
Continuously review VUIT website content to assure up-to-date information
Manage Vanderbilt IT's Twitter account
Alert customers of outages via website notifications
Serve as the communications representative for various projects within Vanderbilt IT as needed:
Draft letters, speaking points, and speeches on behalf of the vice chancellor
Assist the vice chancellor with projects or committees as needed
Serve as department representation amongst internal and external communications committees and projects related to IT
Represent VUIT on communications-related groups/committees as needed
Support the Sr. IT Training and Professional Development Manager as assigned
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary
1-2 years of related experience is necessary
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications, as well as proven time management skills are necessary
Expert editorial and proof-reading skills are necessary
High level of attention to detail is necessary
Ability to work a flexible schedule to attend events and meet deadlines is necessary
Ability to extract data from conversation and documents is necessary
Demonstrated ability to use discretion and good judgment, maintain confidentiality is necessary
Ability to work with and understand the needs of customers is necessary
Responsive, quick, energetic, and has proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment is necessary
Creative with a flair for devising inspirational and innovative ideas is necessary
