This is a full-time, benefit eligible, non-tenure eligible, Lecturer position renewable based on effective performance, availability of funding, and program needs. The contract dates for AY 21/22 are August 16, 2021 – May 6, 2022.

Job Description

The Department of History at Northern Arizona University seeks to hire a lecturer specializing in history/social studies education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching history and social studies methods courses in the BS Ed History and Social Studies program, supervising student fieldwork placements to include student teaching, as well as advising students through the program.  Teaching responsibilities will also include contributing to the history department’s curricular offerings in the university’s “American institutions” liberal studies requirements.  This position requires close work with other history education faculty to deliver a nationally accredited program of study (CAEP) for undergraduate students and help gather, track, and report student assessment data. Duties will also include help in facilitating partnerships with area schools, as well as coordinating student and teacher workshops and seminars.
