The Department of Anthropology, home department of Dean Bill Maurer, is comprised of 19 senate faculty, 5 non-senate faculty (lecturers), 226 undergraduate students and 61 PhD students, with approximately 45 Teaching Assistants per quarter. As Analyst of this rapidly growing department, responsibilities include: financial administration, contract and grant proposal preparation and submission, employment and salary administration, space and facilities management, undergraduate program assistance, back up support for graduate student management and recruitment and customer service pertaining to daily administrative operations for faculty, staff and students in the Department of Anthropology.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
