- Assist in the strategic planning of annual and long-term goals with the Leadership Team and Board of Directors
- Direct and oversee the duties and responsibilities of the Program Leadership Team
- Create, implement and assess a high-quality education program, with social-emotional learning focus, aligned with state licensing and accreditation standards in collaboration with others.
- Serve as a spiritual leader infusing the teachings of Jesus in curriculum, prayer and devotionals
- Build relationships with teachers, staff, and families to partner in meeting the needs of the children
- Serve as the Director in Charge for licensing purposes on specific days overseeing the program during school
Team Management and Development
- Lead approximately 35 staff members across the campus, including supervision of
teachers and other program staff to ensure successful implementation of Small Steps’ program in the classroom and school wide - Strategically recruit, develop, celebrate and retain the best staff and teachers for Small Steps’ children, resulting in a positive, productive school culture and strong morale
- Facilitate, maintain and evaluate professional development for staff
- Implement constructive feedback to teaching staff
- Collaborate with Executive Director and peers to develop a performance management plan and systems to ensure learning is fully maximized and streamlined across both Small Steps’ campuses
- Cultivate strong relationships with community partners, including volunteers
